Los Angeles: Australian actor Luke Mitchell has been promoted to series regular for the upcoming third season of American TV series "Marvel's Agents of SHIELD".

"We loved Luke this season," executive producer Jeffrey Bell told when asked if the show was planning to keep Lincoln around, reported Entertainment Weekly.

"We have a lot of ideas for Luke... He was a nice addition this past season, so he is definitely being considered for all that" he added. The third season will return to ABC this fall.

The 30-year-old "Tomorrow People" alum joined the show in season two as Lincoln, a charismatic Inhuman who helped Skye (Chloe Bennet) discover her powers, and eventually sided with SHIELD after Inhuman leader Jaiying incited a war between them.
