New Delhi: Director Anurag Basu’s wish to adopt Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore’s stories for the small screen will soon be fulfilled.

The EPIC Television Networks Pvt Ltd is launching a new show called “Stories by Rabindranath Tagore”, directed by Basu. 

The channel will release the first look of the show as a tribute to the late writer on Saturday.

In the show, the “Barfi!” director recreates the magic of old Bengal through some of Tagore’s short stories and novels like “Chokher Bali”, “Charulata” and “Atithi”.

“Stories by Rabindranath Tagore”, which will go on air in July, explores the different roles that women play and the bold steps that they took in the nostalgic times of old Bengal, in many trying situations.
