Tina Fey, Amy Poehler to host next two Golden Globe awards

Los Angeles: Television comedy supremoes Tina Fey and Amy Poehler have signed up to host the annual Golden Globe Awards not just next year, but the year after that too.

The talented duo hosted the 2013 Golden Globe Awards to much acclaim, reported CNN online.

Their popularity at this year`s awards is a key factor cited in the ceremony`s ratings success with the biggest Golden Globes ratings in six years in both the 18-49 demographic and total viewers, meaning the show was also the second highest-rated Golden Globes in nine years.

"Tina and Amy are two of the most talented comedic writer/performers in our business and they were a major reason the Golden Globes was the most entertaining awards show of last season," said Paul Telegdy, NBC Entertainment`s president of alternative and late-night programming, in a statement.

"We are elated they wanted to host together again and that they committed for the next two years."

The pair join a growing muscle of funny women in Hollywood and the exciting news of their hosting residency coincides with the news that talkshow host Ellen DeGeneres will host the 2014 Oscars.

The 71st Annual Golden Globe Awards will be broadcast live on January 12 from the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California.
