New Delhi: Ex flames Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor made it to the headlines when it was learnt that they were set to star in Abhishek Choubey's 'Udta Punjab'.
Now it turns out that it may have been Shahid who suggested to Choubey to cast Kareena in the movie which is supposedly a thriller based on the drug abuse and drug mafia in Punjab. Speaking to a leading daily, the actor said that he respected Kareena as an actress and he was the first to suggest her name to the critically acclaimed director.
However reports suggest that the two will not be sharing screen space in the movie. The rumour is that Kareena is being cast opposite popular Punjabi singer, TV presenter Diljit Dosanjh, while Shahid has been paired opposite Alia Bhatt. Alia and Shahid have also been cast for 'Shandaar'.
'Udta Punjab' incidentally, came to Shahid after the fabulous promos of 'Haider' for which the actor received heavy praise. He has also taken the award functions by storm for his performance in the film.
Sasha has a lot of films in his kitty right now including Reema Katgi's 'Mr Chalu' and the remake of ‘Magadheera’.
