New Delhi: While Bollywood actor Salman Khan on Sunday opposed the death penalty of Mumbai serial blasts convict Yakub Memon on Twitter, his father Salim Khan has expressed his anger over it, saying his son shouldn't have tweeted about it.
The controversial tweets in which Salman supports Yakub calling him `innocent` has kicked up a storm, drawing flak from the political and social circles.
The matter being sensitive, Salman's father Salim has said that he should not have made such a comment.
Speaking to Zee Media, he said that Salman should have thought sensitively before tweeting in support of Yakub.
Salim said that whatever Salman has written isridiculous and meaningless, adding that his son is ignorant of the issue and, therefore, people should not take him seriously.
However, he also said that Yakub should be kept in jail rather be hanged because by keeping him alive, he was being given a bigger punishment.
Post Salman's tweets, security has been beefed up outside his Bandra residence.
In a series of tweets, Salman mentioned that Yakub's absconding brother Tiger is the one who should be hanged and even appealed to Pak PM Nawaz Sharif to hand over Tiger if he is in their country.
