New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is in Kazakhstan for a two day visit to help boost the the trade relations of both the nations was welcomed with a beautiful rendition of a classic Bollywood number played during his luncheon.

Vikas Swarup, the official spokesperson, Ministry of External Affairs took to micro-blogging site Twitter and shared the link of the video. He posted: “Across the Hindu Kush and the Pamirs, the bond of Bollywood. Awara Hoon performed at the luncheon in honour of PM”.

Interestingly, legendary actor-director Raj Kapoor is more popular in the country than any of the present day actors. In fact, Bollywood films are much in demand and people still prefer to watch a Raj Kumar film than any of the new star's, reportedly. Perhaps, that explains why the tune of Raj Kapoor's 'Awara Hoon' from the cult film 'Awara' was played in the honour of the PM.
