New Delhi: Bollywood singer Kumar Sanu who has crooned for a number of celebrities has officially joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for the second time.
Earlier, the popular playback singer had joined BJP in the year 2004 when it was headed by then party president Venkiah Naidu. However, he later resigned citing that he needed to concentrate on his singing career.
After formally joining the party on Tuesday, Sanu was welcomed by the party chief Amit Shah.
Reports suggest that he has joined the party because he feels a lot can be done under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi.
Apart from Kumar Sanu, other singers who joined BJP this year include Bappi Lahiri and Babul Supriyo.
