New Delhi: Bollywood actor Neil Nitin Mukesh remembered his grandfather and singer Mukesh on his birth anniversary and said that he is proud to be born as the legend`s grandson. He took to micro-blogging website Twitter to express his feelings.
The 32-year-old actor posted a series of tweets remembering his grandfather. He tweeted:
Never met him in my life.My Grandmother told me so much about him and bridged the gap.So proud to be born his Grandson so proud to a MUKESH

Singer Mukesh was born in Ludhiana as Mukesh Chand Mathur on July 22, 1923. After lending his voice to superhit track `Awaara Hoon`, he came to be known as the ghost voice of Raj Kapoor. During his career Mukesh gave several superhit songs like- `Sabkuch Seekha Humne`, `Kisi Ki Muskuraahaton Pe`, `Koi Jab Tumhara Hriday Tod De`, among others.
He died of a heart attack in August 1976 in Detroit, where he had gone to perform at a concert.
