New Delhi: The undying debate between politicians and artists of various genres is creating rifts lately.

After Shah Rukh Khan, Shabana Azmi and Amjad Ali Khan voiced their opinion over the rising intolerance, legendary actor Kamal Haasan has put forth his views on the hullabaloo.

According to reports in ANI, Kamal feels that returning awards after receiving them is disrespecting the government which have given the awards.

Going back in time, Kamal stated that intolerance led to the partition of the country in 1947. Had we been tolerant enough, we would have been a 'huge fantastic country'.

He further said that we should not let intolerance divide the nation once again. Therefore, standing strong upon his ideology, stalwart Haasan refused to return his award.
