Mumbai: It was a walk down the memory lanes for Bollywood filmmakers Imitiaz Ali, Abhishek Chaubey and Vishal Bhardwaj as they attended the alumni meet of their alma mater to relive their bachelorhood at the Hindu college hostel in Delhi University.
Chandrachud Singh, warden, Hindu college and the professor of Political Science who organised the meet said, "We have renovated the hostel and asked the ex-hostellers to come back and live there for day. 300 students attended the meet starting from 1954 batch.”
Imtiaz, Abhishek and Vishal were all students of Hindu College, Delhi and they all also shared a hostel there.
So, what all happened when the yaar’s met, Singh said, "There was a qawali session with a tandoor and a bar. You can`t drink in the hostel. Lot of sher-o-shayari also took place. The party went on till the wee hours.”
Well, it’s hard to gauge the fun they must have had especially after they got a pass from their wives and children to spend a night together.
Here’s an interesting one. Imtiaz said that Vishal was his senior and was the one to introduce him to social drinking. To which Vishal retorted, “Yes, I did and I have come back just to see if you are continuing doing it or not.”
