New Delhi: A day after the fatal Dausa car crash left BJP MP Hema Malini seriously injured, the veteran has now been discharged as per reports.

Hema Malini's Mercedes collided with a Maruti Alto near Dausa area, killing a four-year-old girl, and injuring four others—the accused driver of the vehicle was arrested and later released on bail, reportedly.

According to ANI, Hema's daughter Esha Deol was quoted as saying: “My mother is now much better and we hope to take her home very soon.”

The 66-year-old actress-turned politician underwent a surgery for her wounds at Fortis hospital here and was doing fine, doctors attending to her said. She was also treated for a minor fracture on her nose.

"On the request of family members, she was discharged around 9:30 AM", a spokesperson of Fortis Hospital told PTI. The 66-year-old actress had undergone a surgery for her wounds at the hospital yesterday. Hanuman Mahajan, who lost his four-year-old daughter Sonam and was among the four injured, filed a complaint with the Kotwali police station in Dausa, against the driver of Hema's car.

Hema was proceeding from Mathura via Bharatpur to Jaipur when the mishap occurred on Agra-Jaipur National Highway-11 near Dausa in Rajasthan around 9 PM yesterday. The other car, a Alto, was going from Jaipur to Lalsot.
