Mumbai: Shahid Kapoor released the theatrical trailer of his up-coming film `Mausam` along with his fans yesterdays.
"It is a very emotional moment for the family. It was a special moment for all of us. The film is a love story. It shows different seasons of love and how the two central characters (Shahid and Sonam) go through the situations.
Director Pankaj Kapoor, Shahid`s father, told reporters.
`Mausam`, starring Shahid and Sonam Kapoor in lead roles, marks the directorial debut of Pankaj who has also written the story.
"This is a very special moment for all of us, our family? Sonam and the producers. It has been quite a journey. I have given a year and half of my life for the film. It has been a very emotional moment for all of us. While I was
driving from home, I was nervous and my palm was sweaty. I was wondering why I was so nervous. This film just means a lot more to us than being a film," Shahid said.
"I thank everyone who has been part of the film. I thank everybody for believing in the vision of my father and following his footsteps. Beyond that, the audience will decide the fate of the film. I am so glad that my fans are here. I am happy to have such lovely fans," he said.
The star cast also includes Anupam Kher and Shahid`s
step mother Supriya Pathak who was present at the event.
"We all worked hard, put in efforts and love for this film. It has been a wonderful experience to work in this film. I am happy to be part of this film," Sonam said.
Earlier in the day, Shahid had tweeted, ?Big day ! MAUSAM promotions kicking off?what a journey its been"?
The film is slated for release on September 16.
