London: George Clooney’s ex-flame Elizabetta Canalis has broken her long silence about her relationship with the actor and revealed that the two had more of a father-daughter relationship.
According to People magazine, the 33-year-old Italian actress has spoken about her two-year relationship with the 50-year-old actor, which ended last June, in ‘Questo Amore’ (This Love), a new book by the Italian journalist Bruno Vespa.
“He has been special for me, and very important, just as a father would be,” the Daily Mail quoted her as saying.
“Between us there was more of a father-daughter relationship. I was unable to clarify this up ‘til now’,” she said.
Even after the break-up, the former ‘Dancing With The Stars’ contestant denied reports that the refusal to settle down on Clooney’s part was what ultimately caused their split.
“George and I never spoke of marriage nor of having kids,” Canalis said.
“I don’t put limits to the possibility of having them, but neither George nor I had ever envisaged having kids together. The end of the relationship was not caused by a marriage issue, but instead by our personal needs,” she added.
