New Delhi: More trouble is brewing for superstar Salman Khan on the legal front.
According to a leading daily, the Rajasthan High Court has rejected Salman Khan's plea against trial court admitting more witnesses in the 1998 Blackbuck case. A Jodhpur court had accepted his plea to produce four witnesses in the arms act case in March this year.
Salman was convicted and sentenced to one year and five-year prison term in separate cases of poaching of two Chinkaras at Bhawad and one black buck at Ghoda Farm (Mathania) on the intervening night of September 26-27, 1998 and September 28-29, 1998 respectively.
Blackbuck is a protected animal and its hunting is a punishable offence. The infamous shooting case dates back to 1998 during the shooting of the film 'Hum Saath Saath Hain'.
Dduring the alleged poaching of Blackbucks at village Kankani near Jodhpur on the intervening night of 1-2 October, 1998, Salman's arms license had expired and hence the actor had been using the arms illegally. Upon this complaint, Luni police had registered a case against Khan under Arms Act too.
