New Delhi: Megastar Amitabh Bachchan was conferred the Akkineni Nageswara Rao (ANR) award in Hyderabad on Saturday.
The star took to social networking site Twitter to express his gratitude for the award.

Amitabh's tenacity for decades is much celebrated and was honoured with the ceremony at the Annapurna Studios.
The ANR award recognizes those actors whose body of work has been significant in the industry and that leaves an impact on the people. Late legendary actor Nageswara Rao's son Akkineni Nagarjuna thanked Big B for accepting the award.
The ceremony was graced by Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Venkaiah Naidu including the entire ANR family members and numerous fans of ANR.

ANR Award previously has been bestowed upon Dev Anand, Shabana Azmi, Anjali Devi, Vyjayanatimala Bali, Lata Mangeshkar, K. Balachander, Hema Malini and Shyam Benegal.
