New Delhi: Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Goliyon Ki Ras Leela : Ram- Leela’ has suffered because of all the protest that it has faced because of its title.

Fortunately for Bhansali, the movie is doing pretty well overseas and has gained 450 thousand dollars in United States alone(Approximately INR 2.8 crores). That is higher than Ranbir-Deepika starrer ‘Yeh Jawani Hai Diwani’ (USD 430,000) and Hrithik Roshan’s latest super hero flick ‘Krrish 3’ (USD 311,000).

The film also did well in the UK and UAE with collections of 87,000 pounds and 1.3 million dirhams respectively. The movie is heading to make records for highest overseas collections.

With Bajrang dal filing a case against SLB, and several other groups protesting the movies content and title, the movie lost out on domestic collections. It just got Rs 16 crores in the first weekend.

The release of ‘Ram-Leela’ was delayed in Ahmedabad itself by a day. Indore also saw a delay in the release and several theatres saw shows being cancelled.

The movie has created ripples and seems to be doing much better than Bhansali’s last two offerings – ‘Saanwariya’ and ‘Guzaarish’. Here is wishing the team a big success at the Box Office!
