Mumbai: Riteish Deshmukh’s performance in ‘Ek Villain’ has been hugely appreciated and the man, for all obvious reasons deserves the applause.

The actor, who has delivered a number of comedy films earlier, displayed the other side of his acting prowess, by donning the hat of an antagonist in the Mohit Suri film that also featured Sidharth Malhotra and Shraddha Kapoor.

Deshmukh’s portrayal of a comic character in his previous release- ‘Humshakals’- had reached a saturation point. And the actor too had reportedly admitted to being bored of repetitive comedy films.

Just when the audiences too had had enough of laughter, courtesy Riteish, Suri’s ‘Ek Villain’ hit the silverscreen as a refreshing and a welcome change. Appreciations have been pouring in from all corners- from fans to critics- everyone has being going gaga over Riteish’s performance in the recently released film.

And with this, it wouldn’t be wrong to say that villains seldom do good to anyone, but for Riteish, ‘Ek Villain’ has ushered in a new phase in the actor’s career.

Great going RD. All the very best for your Marathi outing ‘Lai Bhaari’.
