Amitabh to recreate the magic of his decades old folk song in ‘Aladin’

Mumbai: Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan is all set to groove to the tunes of a famous folk number, which he had sung himself at a stage show 20 years back. Big B will reportedly be dancing to a folk song in his upcoming film ‘Aladin’, which is incidentally the same number that he was heard singing two decades ago.

Filmmaker Sujoy Ghosh reveals that he had heard Amitabh singing two lines of a folk song at a stage show 20 years ago, so he now wants to recreate it for ‘Aladin’.

According to our source, “Bachchan came up with an impromptu two-liner song that he sung on stage for his fans some 20 years ago. Sujoy made note of the same and last year, while working on the music for ‘Aladin’, he requested music composers Vishal and Shekhar to incorporate those lines into a full song. The talented musical duo came up with a peppy number ‘O Re Saawariya’. When Bachchan heard the song, the legendary actor found the tune familiar but couldn’t recollect where he had heard those lines. He was pleasantly shocked when Sujoy told him that it was actually his (Bachchan’s) own song and reminded him about the concert that took place 20 years ago.”

The song is choreographed by Bosco Ceaser and Saroj Khan.
