New Delhi: Nude models posing for art students are reportedly up for a raise after four years.
According to reports, the models who were previously paid Rs 300 for a full day session are now going to be paid Rs 1000.
The full nude models are not the only one who have got a hike. Semi nude models will be now earning Rs 600 per day as against Rs 250 that was decided in 2011. Draped models too are now going to get Rs 400, from this academic session.
A report in DNA said that a circular about the issue was generated by the Higher and Technical Education Department on June 10.
The curriculum of art colleges requires draped, nude and semi-nude models for practice sessions of students in painting, drawing and sculpture as students are supposed to learn about male and female anatomy.
