Medinah: This may sound bizarre but it is sadly true. In a shocking event of sorts, things turned pretty ugly after a Saudi groom divorced his wife on the wedding day itself.
According to reports, the groom apparently rose to his feet after the bride removed her veil to be photographed and he declared that she was not the girl he wanted to marry and instantly divorced her. He also said that he never got a chance to see his wife until the marriage day.
The couple, who hail from the Western Saudi town of Medinah, had agreed to marry each other even though they had not seen other face-to-face.
But things didn't go well at the wedding and the bride collapsed after the groom demanded divorce. And the entire wedding affair turned out to be one of despair instead of a happy picture.
Despite several attempts by the wedding guests to solve the situation, the result was in vain.
