My upbringing prepared me for world: Drew Barrymore

Los Angeles: Actress Drew Barrymore feels that the upbringing which she received as a child has helped her in dealing with many situations.

The 38-year-old said that even though her every step wasn`t monitored when she was young, she went through things in her youth which were "out there" and "exposed" and this has taught her well.

"Even though I grew up in a different time, when every step you took wasn`t recorded, I still went through things in my youth that were totally out there and very much exposed. I didn`t know it at the time, but it was a blessing. It prepared me for this world we live in today," she said.

The actress, who has a 14-month-old daughter Olive with husband Will Kopelman, is pregnant with her second child.
