Los Angeles: Tattoo artist Kat Von D has apologised for naming a lipstick `Celebutard` in her make-up line.
In a Facebook note, the tattoo artist admitted that she "made a mistake" naming the shade `Celebutard`, but insisted that she did not mean to offend people, reported Aceshowbiz.
"Even though I made a mistake in naming a lipstick, `Celebutard` I know what my real intentions were. It`s actually the opposite of what your perception portrays.
"Of course, it doesn`t make it right, and in all honesty I have no problem admitting when I`ve made a mistake. In fact, it was my idea to pull the product from the shelves as quickly as possible," she said.
Kat previously was slammed because of the shade name `Celebutard`. The color was pulled out from stores after some people sparked online buzz about it, saying that the name suggested a not-so-bright celebrity and is associated with the word retard.
"It should have never been on the shelves to begin with," said Faith Bodnar from Inclusion BC, a non-profit organization that promotes the inclusion of people with developmental disabilities in community. "It`s degrading, and there`s no place for it."
