John Hurt vows to continue acting despite pancreatic cancer diagnosis

London: John Hurt may be 75 years of age and was recently diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, but that's not going o stop him from continue working.

The veteran actor announced in a statement that he's been diagnosed with early stage pancreatic cancer and was undergoing treatment, but both he and his medical team his was "more than optimistic" about his future, reported the Mirror.

Hurt, who's notable films include 'The Elephant Man' and 'Midnight Express' both of which garnered him Academy Award nominations, 'The Naked Civil Servant,' and a recurring role of Mr Ollivander in the 'Harry Potter' films, revealed that his next role was to voice star in play 'Jeffrey Bernard Is Unwell' for BBC Radio 4.

He added that he's already finished working with David Yates in upcoming movie 'Tarzan,' which is to be released in July 2016.
