New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has a set of norms for schools planning to apply for its accreditation.
As part of the process, CBSE appoints an agency through a transparent selection process for carrying out the pre-accreditation orientation of schools.
CBSE allocates an empaneled agency after receiving the Form of Intent from a prospective school. The school is also required to pay a fee of Rs.55,000.
The accessee school then submits the “SQAA" (School Quality Assessment and Accreditation) form to the agency along with related evidence in support of the filled data.
The Peer Assessor Team (PAT), which is accredited by the CBSE, then analyses the SQAA data submitted by the applicant school.
PAT plans a visit to the school only if it scores an overall 50 percent.
It then prepares a report which then is reviewed by the CBSE.
CBSE announces the final result on its website in case the school gains accreditation. The accredited school is also notified by the CBSE.
