In September, formal employment creation accelerated, with 1.54 million official jobs created under the Employees' Provident Fund Organisation, up from 1.36 million in August, a 13.2 percent increase. EPFO's net new customers increased by 3% year over year to 1.49 million in September 2020, compared to 1.49 million in September 2020.
According to payroll data released by the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation, 1.33 million new subscribers were added to the Employees State Insurance Corporation, compared to 1.34 million in August, while 72,923 new subscribers were added to the National Pension Scheme, compared to 56,827 in August 2021.
