New Delhi: Police on Friday arrested one person here for possession of a stolen mobile phone of Ukraine's Ambassador to India Igor Polikha.

Polikha's phone was snatched away while he was taking selfies at the Red Fort.

Police said that the person who snatched his phone last Wednesday has been identified and a search is on to nab him.

Earlier, the envoy had written to the union home ministry and the Delhi Police Commissioner to apprise them about the incident.

Polikha said that he was clicking photos of the historic monument around 9 am when a young man snatched his phone and fled the scene.

A complaint was registered at the Lal Quila Police station.

The police had scanned the CCTV footage at the site to nab the culprit. Some 100 people were reportedly questioned over the past three days in connection with the case.
