A class I student on Thursday allegedly molested by school staff at Sant Nirankari Public School in Delhi's Malviya Nagar.

New Delhi: A class I student was on Wednesday allegedly molested by school staffer at Sant Nirankari Public School in Delhi's Malviya Nagar.

The incident reportedly took place inside the school toilet where the girl was assaulted by housekeeping staff. According to ANI, the accused Rakesh has been arrested and sent to judicial custody.

The accused reportedly touched the student inappropriately. The complaint states that the when the child returned home at 2.30pm on Wednesday, she informed her mother of the incident. The parents then reached the school and confronted the principal following which the police was called in.

Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Chinmoy Biswal said the girl was molested on Wednesday afternoon in Sant Nirankari School in Malviya Nagar of south Delhi by the sweeper -- Rakesh, 22.

"The victim returned from the school and informed her parents, who then went back to the school and met the Principal," the DCP said. 

Biswal said the girl was molested at around 1.00 p.m on Wednesday and around 8.00 p.m, her parents informed the police about the incident. 

The officer said the accused was later identified by the victim and he was subsequently arrested. 

Earlier on September 8, class II student, Pradhyuman Thakur was found dead with his throat slit in the washroom of the Ryan International school in the Bhondsi on the Sohna road. A bus driver, Ashok Kumar has been arrested in connection with the case.
