New Delhi: Congress on Wednesday attacked Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, accusing him of looking for excuses for not fulfilling his promises.

"Ever since Kejriwal came to power in Delhi, he has been looking for excuses for not doing any work," Delhi Congress President Ajay Maken after inaugrating the election office of its Shalimar Bagh candidate Seema Tara Dutt.

"Kejriwal first fought with the Central government and its representatives, and now he has begun fighting for issues like posters and hoardings," he said.

The Congress leader also said that Kerjriwal`s Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) were fighting on issues like posters and hoardings because both were trying to hide their "failures" to mislead the people.

Slamming BJP, Maken said: "BJP has owned up that its municipal councillors were corrupt and had a report of their corruption with it."

He said that it was the reason why the sitting councillors of BJP were denied tickets in the ensuing elections to the Municipal Corporations of Delhi (MCD).

"The MCDs were deep in corruption under the nose of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, but he did not take any action and suddenly realised the truth while distributing the tickets for the MCD elections that the BJP councillors were mired in corruption," he said.
