New Delhi: India's latest leg-spin sensation Yuzvendra Chahal took it a little too far in his latest social media post when he claimed of lifting weights heavier than Chris Gayle does during workout in a caption posted alongside an Instagram video from his gym session.

Chahal, who skipped the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 tournament, is currently training at the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore and is expected to fly out to South Africa once the limited-overs leg of India's tour of the rainbow nation begins.

Incidentally, the video posted by Chahal got the legspinner's Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) team-mates, including Gayle, joining in for a healthy online banter.

Tabraiz Shamsi was the first to comment.

"Oh my gosh! Is this @yuzi_chahal23 or @chrisgayle333??," Shamsi commented on the Instagram post.

And Chahal replied soon after with a brow-raising comment.

"I lift heavier than @chrisgayle333. This is my warm up set @shamsi90," Chahal wrote.

Gayle then jumped into the conversation.

"Wtf. Kill me," the Jamaican commented.

Then it was the turn of India's fielding coach R Sridhar, who cheekily wrote: "The dumbbells seem too light for your strength!! Add a few kgs mate...."

RCB, meanwhile, have retained captain Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers and Sarfaraz Khan ahead of the coming players' auction, which means the fate of Chahal will be decided when the hammer comes down in Bengaluru later this month.
