Why isn't there a Sourav Ganguly stand in Eden Gardens? Read Dada's EPIC reply to Ravi Shastri

New Delhi: The Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) recently discussed the idea of allotting seven Eden Gardens' stands after the names of seven eminent personalities involved with the game.

Topping the list was the name of former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly and late cricket administrator Jagmohan Dalmiya.

This might seem as the first time when the idea of naming a stand after Dada actually materializes, but it isn't the first time it was discussed.

Ganguly, who has become a prominent commentator after announcing retirement from all forms of cricket, was once questioned by Ravi Shastri as to "why isn't there a stand named after him at Eden Gardens?"

Shastri might have thought that he has won the battle of words with this question but the flamboyant left-hander's reply left him muted.

"The entire stadium belongs to me Ravi," was Bengal Tiger's subtle reply.

Later, Ganguly even argued with Harsha Bhogle how Sachin Tendulkar could never be famous in Kolkata for more than five days when the Little Master played the final Test series of his career.
