New Delhi: When ICC announced its plans to conduct the inaugural WT20 in 2007, the world's richest cricket board did not buy into the governing body's vision.

Not just the BCCI but even Team India's senior most players like Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly and Rahul Dravid didn't take the concept of T20 seriously at the time.

The legendary trio even opted out of the tournament in South Africa, giving the country's young players a chance to showcase their talent.

After the conclusion of the first-ever WT20, it was clear to all the world's cricket boards that the shortest format of the game was indeed going to be cricket's future.

While that tournament witnessed several iconic moments, one match in particular demonstrated the true essence of T20 cricket.

Match 10 of the event, a Group D clash between India and Pakistan at Durban will go down  in history as the game that helped shape the BCCI and Indian cricket's outlook towards T20 cricket.

After a tie, the contest was decided in a bowl-out, which was comprehensively won by India.
