MS Dhoni biopic: Sushant thinks movie's success down to him not MS Dhoni, claims a production house CEO

New Delhi: The soaring success of MS Dhoni: The Untold story has even crossed the expectations of fans with the movie reportedly crossing the Rs. 200 crore mark already.

The journey of India's most sucessful captain, MS Dhoni has been shown in an inspirational manner with lead actor, Sushant Singh Rajput drawing plaudits for his immaculous imitation of MS Dhoni throughout the movie. The performance even surpassed the expectations of Mahi himself who was surprised to see Sushant emulating him so well.

As per Mumbai Mirror, Sushant has reportedly doubled his price for a movie to Rs 3.5- Rs 4 Crores.

As per Filmibeat.com, the CEO of a top production house commented on the reports by stating, "That is the standard practice of any star. If you deliver a 200-Crore sizzler, you demand a higher price. But the problem here is Sushant thinks the film has become a hit because of him, not for MS Dhoni."

It is hard to imagine anyone else performing the role of MS Dhoni on screen as good as Sushant Singh Rajput, who mastered everything from Mahi's style of holding the bat to the helicopter shot.

Earlier, Sushant Singh Rajput told Hindustan Times in an interview, “I was confident that I have done a good job in the movie. The question was; how much the masses will connect with the film. But, thankfully the response to the film has been overwhelming. The credit for which also goes to MS’s popularity, and the content.”

Though the movie reveals many unseen and unheard excerpts from Mahi's life, it has widely stayed away from falling into any controversies.

While many film producers show deep interest in touch a controversial topic through the movie, Neeraj Pandey has kept himself away from all the trouble with focus on the inspirational journey of India's most successful cricket captain.

It also stars actors Disha Patani, Kiara Advani, Anupam Kher and Bhumika Chawla.
