Lodha committee vs BCCI: Supreme Court to hear Indian board's response to panel's status report today

New Delhi: The Supreme Court will on Thursday hear BCCI's response to Justice RM Lodha panel's status report, where they demanded that the top officials of the Indian board should be replaced by cricket administrators.

The panel suggested that cricket administrators needed to be appointed for the implementation of the reforms after the BCCI had failed to do so by being defiant.

In the wake of Lodha Committee report, BCCI brass on Tuesday said the cricket board is still "confused" over the kind of payments that can be made from the two bank accounts which had come under the scanner of the Supreme Court-appointed panel.

Sources in BCCI said the cricket board is awaiting the judgement of the Supreme Court on the issue to get clarity on the subject, which is crucial for continuance of the ongoing series with New Zealand.

Amid the logjam, BCCI president Anurag Thakur today wrote a letter to the state associations, saying "confusion" prevails over payments that the Board can make even after Justice (retd) Lodha had asked the banks to defreeze the accounts in the two banks -- Yes Bank and Bank of Maharashtra.
