Hello and welcome to the live coverage of match number 20 of the ongoing IPL 2020 between Mumbai Indians and Rajasthan Royals which is all set to take place later tonight (October 6) at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi.

Mumbai Indians have beaten Rajasthan Royals by 57 runs.

Mumbai Indians had won the toss and opted to bat first and posted a handsome total of 193/4 from their innings.

Mumbai Indians currently occupy the second spot in the points table with three wins from five games while Rajasthan Royals sit in the fifth position after two wins and two losses.

Rajasthan Royals, after a strong start to the tournament, have drifted away somewhat, losing two matches on the trot against KKR and RCB respectively. In these two losses, the Royals batting have let them down with both skipper Steve Smith and Sanju Samson failing to fire with the bat.

The duo of Smith and Samson are integral to the side’s fortunes as they both had been amongst the runs, scoring brilliant fifties in their opening two victories against CSK and KXIP. In those two opening victories, the Royals had scored 216 and 226 runs respectively with Samson being crowned as the man of the match in both. Senior players like Robin Uthappa and Jaydev Unadkat have also failed to deliver so far.

Mumbai Indians have just the opposite tale. The defending champions were still finding their feet in the early goings but have now shifted gears. They have won their last two matches with all-round performances. The return to form of star opener Quinton de Kock in the last game also bodes well for them. The rest of the side are already in good form with both the bat and the ball.

Mumbai Indians will start as slight favorites in this one thanks to their talisman Rohit Sharma’s good touch with the bat and the leadership which has taken them to a record four IPL title victories.

However, one thing to note is that Rajasthan Royals have won their past four matches against Mumbai Indians and will look to continue this fantastic run.

A clinical performance from Mumbai Indians. Mumbai Indians beat Rajasthan Royals by 57 runs.

6 October 2020, 23:03 PM

6 October 2020, 22:59 PM

OUT!! WICKET!! Tewatia is bowled by Bumrah. No Tewatia to save the day for Rajasthan today. Bumrah picks-up his second.  RR: 113/7 (13.2 Overs)

6 October 2020, 22:55 PM

OUT!! WICKET!! Tom Curran is gone. He has failed to time it completely today which agains shows how difficult the wicket is - the ball is coming really slow to the bat. Curran tried to go big against a slower short ball from Pollard but miscues it completely, Hardik completes an easy catch. RR: 113/6 (15 Overs)

6 October 2020, 22:47 PM

OUT!! WICKET!! Jos Buttler is gone. Pollard takes a fantastic catch in the deep. Buttler's had timed the Pattinson's delivery quite well but as fate would have it, the gigantic Kieron Pollard takes leap and ultimately completes the catch. Pollard palms the ball first and then completes the fantastic effort. Buttler scored a fantastic 70 off 44 balls. RR: 102/5 (14 Overs)

6 October 2020, 22:44 PM

6 October 2020, 22:32 PM

Jos Buttler completes his fifty but Mumbai Indians remain well on top. Jos Buttler has started timing it better now but he is still far from his best. Tom Curran needs to give him strong company. RR: 74/4 (11 Overs)

6 October 2020, 22:20 PM

Out!! Wicket!! Mahipal Lomror is gone. The required run-rate was going upand Lomror decided to go big but ends up looping the ball straight up. Substitute Anukul Roy takes a magnificient diving catch. A fielders wicket, it must be said. RR: 51/4 (9 Overs)

6 October 2020, 22:09 PM

Mumbai Indians well on top here. Although Buttler is at the crease, he isn't timing it properly while new man in Mahipal Lomror is just ensuring that his side doesn't lose another wicket. Very tight lines from the Mumbai bowlers. They are executing their plans perfectly. RR: 35/3 (7 Overs)

6 October 2020, 21:55 PM

OUT!! Wicket!! Sanju Samson is gone, dismissed by Boult. He tried to go for a pull but was cramped for room and just ends up slicing the ball. Rohit Sharma completes an easy catch. Rajasthan Royals can't stop losing wickets. What are they doing here. They are getting out after playing poor shots. Same story, different team. RR: 16/3 (4 Overs)

6 October 2020, 21:49 PM

OUT!! WICKET!! HUGE! Steve Smith is dismissed caught behind off Jasprit Bumrah. The Royals are rattled here. It was a wild swing of the bat from Smith who has been dismissed again after playing a horeendously bad shot. It was not needed at all. RR: 7/2 (2 Overs)

6 October 2020, 21:44 PM

Out!! Wicket!! Yashasvi Jaiswal is dismissed caught behind on just the second ball of the innings. It was an away swinger and Jaiswal makes a mess of it. RR: 5/1 (1 Over)

6 October 2020, 21:39 PM

Jos Buttler and Yashasvi Jaiswal will open Rajasthan Royals innings. Trent Boult opens proceedings for Mumbai Indians. RR: 0/0 (0 Overs)

6 October 2020, 21:31 PM

One for Suryakumar Yadav. Good stuff.

6 October 2020, 21:31 PM

6 October 2020, 21:26 PM

Mumbai Indians have posted a handsome total of 193/4 from their innings. The final over from Ankit Rajpoot yielded 17 runs to take Mumbai to that total. While only a six and four came from it, Rajpoot didn't help matters with a no-ball. Suryakumar finishes with a brilliant 79 from 47 balls. MI: 193/4 (20 Overs)

6 October 2020, 21:14 PM

Fiery over it was from Archer. On the very first ball, the ball slips from his hands and it turns out to be a 152 kph beamer. Hardik couldn't do much on the ensuing free hit which was a scorching Yorker. Suryakumar is then hit on the helmet and looks a bit out of sorts as the physios attend to him. He gives a befitting reply by hitting a reverse scoop sort of a shot against Archer for a six. MI: 176/4 (19 Overs)

6 October 2020, 21:05 PM

Dropped. Hardik Pandya is dropped by Tom Curran off his own bowling. How costly will this prove to be ? Curran never understood the trajectory of the ball and in the end, makes a mess of it. Suyakumar Yadav then hits a six and four off Curran - to give the reply for his side. 19 from that over. MI: 161/4 (18 Overs)

6 October 2020, 21:01 PM

It was a good 17th over from Jofra Archer with only 9 runs coming from it. Two boundaris still came from it with both Pandya and Suryakumar hitting a boundary each. Mumbai need a big finish here. Pollard yet to come. MI: 142/4 (17 Overs)

6 October 2020, 20:59 PM

6 October 2020, 20:46 PM

It is a good battle going on in the middle. Inspite of losing wickets, what Mumbai Indians have done well so far is that they haven't let the run-rate dwindle. They are still scoring around 9 per over and they still have big-hitters like Hardik Pandya and Kieron Pollard. Hardik is the new man in. Good 15th over from Tygai as he gives away just 8 runs. Good spell from him 4-0-36-1. MI: 125/4 (15 Overs)

6 October 2020, 20:45 PM

6 October 2020, 20:42 PM

Wicket!! Out!! Krunal Pandya is gone. He has failed to do justice to his role today. He tried to go for a pull against the pacy Archer but hands a straight catch to Gopal at midwicket. MI: 117/4 ( 14 Overs)

6 October 2020, 20:31 PM

Mumbai were rattled for a while after those two quick wickets. They only pick-up 4 runs from the 10th and 11th overs. But Suryakumar Yadav makes some amends as he hits Gopal for two fours. MI: 104/3 (12 Overs)

6 October 2020, 20:23 PM

OUT!! WICKET!! 2 in 2! Ishan Kishan is gone. Shreyas Gopal is on a hat-trick. That was a nothing shot from Ishan Kishan. He tried to go for a maximum off Gopal and completely makes a mess of it and Sanju Samson takes the catch at extra cover. MI: 88/3 (9.2 Overs)

6 October 2020, 20:21 PM

Out!! Wicket!! Rohit Sharma is gone. Shreyas Gopal takes the wicket. Sharma tried to go for a big shot, miscued his timing and Tewatia takes a safe catch at long on. MI: 88/2 (9.1 Overs)

6 October 2020, 20:16 PM

Now Suryakumar is getting into the act as he hits Kartik Tyagi for three fours in the latters third over. While the first two boundaries were from deft touches, the third one went for four after Yadav's bat took a thick edge and Buttler could only see it flying past. MI: 88/1 (9 Overs)

6 October 2020, 20:03 PM

Good comeback from the Royals here. Kartik Tyagi is not afraid to attack Rohit Sharma and is bombarding him with short pitched deliveries. Rohit Sharma and new man-in Suryakumar Yadav are not taking any unnecessary risks. MI: 65/1 (7 Overs)

6 October 2020, 20:02 PM

6 October 2020, 20:00 PM

6 October 2020, 19:51 PM

Wicket!! Out!! Quinton de Kock is gone. Debutant Kartik Tyagi picks up his maiden IPL wicket. Very well directed short ball from the youngster. De Kock went for a frantic pull but fails to connect and Buttler takes an easy catch. Meanwhile, It was an expensive first over from Archer as he was hit for a four and six by De Kock. Archer struggled with his line there. MI: 50/1 (5 Overs)

6 October 2020, 19:42 PM

Poor from Ankit Rajpoot. Brought in place of Jaydev Unadkat, he is faring no better. He leaks 15 runs from his second over with a six and two fours coming off him. 25 runs from his first two overs. Jofra Archer to bowl the next. MI: 29/0 (3 Overs)

6 October 2020, 19:36 PM

Good start from Mumbai Indians. Both batsmen start off with textbook strokes for four against Ankit Rajpoot who struggles with his lines. But leg-spinner Shreyas Gopal makes amends by giving just four runs from the second over. MI: 10/0 (2 Overs)

6 October 2020, 19:29 PM

Rohit Sharma and Quinton de Kock will open Mumbai Indians' innings. Ankit Rajpoot will start the bowling attack for Rajasthan Royals. MI: 0/0 (0 Overs)

6 October 2020, 19:14 PM

No changes in the playing XI for Mumbai.
