New Delhi: Despite not being in the best of form with the bat in the tenth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), former Indian wicketkeeper Mahendra Singh Dhoni was once again in sensational form behind the wickets.

As other wicketkeepers missed plenty of catches, stumpings and run-out chances, the Ranchi-born cricketer continued to impress from behind the wickets with his unmatchable presence of mind on the field.

However, during RPS' match against Kings XI Punjab on Sunday, there came a rare moment when Dhoni dropped a catch.

Left-arm pacer Jaydev Unadkat, who has played a major role in Pune's redemption in the second half of the tournament, produced an edge off Wriddhiman Saha's bat in the third over of Punjab's innings. Saha chased a wide ball and nicked it towards the slip cordon.

Dhoni, who usually takes those catches without much trouble, got his right glove to it but could not hold on to the ball. The RPS fielders could not believe their eyes after one of the greatest wicketkeepers in the world grassed the chance.

Saha, who was batting on 2 when the catch was dropped, could not capitalise on it and finally perished in the tenth over after scoring just 13 runs. Punjab were skittled out for just 73 runs in a must-win match against Pune.

With a comprehensive nine-wicket win against Glenn Maxwell's men, RPS advanced into the play-offs where they will take on two-time IPL winners Mumbai Indians in Qualifier 1 on Tuesday.
