New Delhi: Lightning fast stumpings are one of the many facets which made Mahendra Singh Dhoni a legend. He has conjured up some of the best ever stumpings in the history of cricket, and many have found inspiration in the former India captain.
But on Wednesday, the 35-year-old was given a taste of his own medicine, thanks to a deadly combo of Kuldeep Yadav and Robin Uthappa in their Indian Premier League (IPL) match in Pune. The Rising Pune Supergiant (RPS) wicketkeeper-batsman was batting well, having already hit a four and two sixes in 15 balls, and was threatening to maul the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) attack.
A seemingly impromptu moment of brilliance ended Dhoni's stay, and there, cricket fans witnessed a legend killer in Yadav. The 22-year-old chinaman bowler from Kanpur produced just the perfect 'googly' to send back Dhoni. The sight of Dhoni, who had hit Yadav for a huge six earlier in the innings, failing to pick a delivery, let alone a beauty, was indeed one of the defining moments of the match.
Dhoni stepped out to play the second ball of the 18th over, but was flummoxed by the variation of the delivery which took just enough turn to beat the bat. Uthappa, who went on to play a belligerent knock later in the second innings, produced a neat glove-work behind the wicket, much to Dhoni's dismay.

Put into bat by KKR captain Gautam Gambhir, RPS set a challenging 183-run target. But it turned out to be too small a target for the home side as Uthappa and Gambhir hit 87 and 62 runs respectively to set up a seven-wicket win with 11 balls remaining.
