On the last ball of the 19th over, Mitchell McClenaghan smashed a delivery from Jaydev Unadkat toward deep mid-wicket boundary as Ajinkya Rahane attempted to pull off a clinical catch but put his foot on the rope while going for it. Though he was able to hand over the ball to Steve Smith before falling behind the ropes, but in the process had stepped on the rope.

In his attempt, Rahane not just produced a fine display of his fielding but also showed true sportsmanship by signaling to the umpire that it was indeed a six as he had failed to take a clean catch.

Earlier, some late power hitting from explosive Dhoni helped his side to post a formidable first inning total of 162.

Dhoni (40) and Manoj Tiwari (58) accumulated 41 runs in the last two overs of their innings and earned the much-needed momentum shift for their bowlers.

Sundar was rightly adjudged Man of the Match. With the win, Pune Supergiant maintained their cent percent win record against Mumbai Indians in this edition.
