Sunrisers Hyderabad's Siddharth Kaul reveals how MS Dhoni thrashing made him a better bowler

New Delhi: Not long ago, Rising Pune Sueprgiant's MS Dhoni single-handedly won the game for his franchise after completing an epic run chase against Sunrisers Hyderabad, hitting 15 runs for in the final over against Siddharth Kaul.

Kaul, who had won two games against Kings XI Punjab and Delhi Daredevils in similar situations before, thinks that the incident (bashing by Dhoni) has made him a better bowler.

“It is very challenging to bowl at Mahi bhai when he is in blazing form. I tried different variations and changed the field placements, but he just went after the bowlers and snatched the match from us,” Kaul was quoted saying by Hindustan Times.

He also revealed that after the match, the Jharkhand-born batsman came to him and said, “Acha ball kar raha hai tu. Pace bhi bhadd gaya hai tera aur yorkers bhi ache jaa rahe hain. Aise hee sharp ball rakh.” (You have been bowling well. The pace has also increased and you are executing the Yorkers to perfection. Keep up the good work).”

SRH, subsequently, defeated Glenn Maxwell-led Kings XI Punjab to notch up first away win of the season.

Half-centuries from openers Shikhar Dhawan (77), David Warner (51) and Kane Williamson (54 not out) propelled Hyderabad to a very challenging 207 for three after being asked to take the first strike.

The hosts were off to a flying start but intermittent wickets did not help their cause. All they could manage was 181 for nine, allowing Hyderabad consolidate their third position in the table.
