New Delhi: Harsh Goenka, Rising Pune Supergiant owner Sanjeev Goenka’s brother and businessman, has put himself at the center of fans backlash after posting a controversial tweet MS Dhoni following Pune franchise's 7-wicket victory over Mumbai Indians.
Few days before the start of IPL 10 auction, Dhoni was replaced as skipper of the Pune outfit by Australian national team skipper Steve Smith – a decision that didn't go down well with the Indian fan base that well. Now, RPS owner Sanjeev Goenka's brother, Harsh has further annoyed fans by tweeting, “#RPSvMI Smith proves who’s the king of the jungle. Overshadows Dhoni totally. Captains innings. Great move to appoint him as captain.”
The tweet was later deleted but not before twitterati had taken screenshots of it and started hitting Goenka back for the shameful tweet.
Here's how twitter reacted after the tweet went viral:-

During the post-match conference, Rising Pune Supergiant batsman Ajinkya Rahane clarified that Mahi is still the leader for him and even Smith is seen taking inputs from the former Indian captain throughout the match.
“Though Steve Smith has led the Australian side very well, for me, MS Dhoni is still the best leader. This was the first game as leader for Smith, but he was learning from Dhoni as well.” Rahane further added, “Smith was seen taking more tips from him. Dhoni was seen giving tips and inputs to Smith in the middle.”
He continued, “It is very difficult as I have just played one game under Smith. I have played a lot more under Mahi bhai’s captaincy and we all know he is a world-class leader. I think people should not compare Smith and Dhoni’s captaincy. He (Dhoni) is still a world-class player.”
RPS next face KXIP, today at the Holkar Stadium.
