Mohammad Kaif's brilliant take on stone pelters' attack on CRPF jawans in Kashmir will make every Indian proud — MUST READ

New Delhi: Hours after a series of videos went viral on social media showing stone pelters attacking CRPF jawans in Kashmir's Nashrullahpora, an 'appalled' Mohammad Kaif slamed the attackers.

The India cricketer, who is also the fielding coach of Indian Premier League (IPL) The Gujarat Lions took to Twitter to share his thoughts.

In the post, he wrote, "Appalled seeing the video of attack on our Jawaans.Extremely stupid of attackers to think of our #CRPFJawaans restraint as their weakness."

His words just about summed that's everything with the attack. He first expressed his disgust on the ghastly act, then went on to hail the extreme restraint observed by the jawans in the face of trouble, and at the same time, warning that restraint is never a weakness.

The incident evoked strong criticism from various quarters.

Earlier in the day, Kaif's former team-mates Gautam Gambhir and Virender Sehwag shared messages in social media, slamming the attacks.

Violence erupted in Srinagar on Sunday as bypolls were held amid a boycott call by separatist groups and militants. The bypolls recorded a turnout of 7.14 per cent, lowest in 30 years.

The videos showed locals assaulting jawans who were returning from a polling station in Budgam district of Srinagar.
