New Delhi: With the Indian Premier League (IPL) rolling into its 10th season, the organisers seem to have planned something big, something that would make the celebration unique.
IPL chairman Rajeev Shukla revealed on Monday that this time he intends to include every Indian to be part of the opening celebration, thus this season would witness eight separate opening ceremonies, featuring upcoming Bollywood stars like Shraddha Kapoor, Tiger Shroff, Parineeti Chopra and many others.
"It would be unfair to say it was my idea. All the members sat together and decided to have separate opening ceremonies across all the host cities to give the fans an opportunity to witness the opening of the 10th edition of the IPL live," said Rajeev in an interview to Cricketnext. "The various segments of the ceremony will be on our culture, the culture and tradition of the host cities as also highlighting the high points from the last nine editions of the tournament. We will also have performances from Bollywood stars, spirit of cricket signing, etc."

April 5, RCB vs SRH, Hyderabad - Actress Amy Jackson is said to be performing at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. "Apart from that, we could also have a laser show as also we will have the official digital signing of the eight captains and bringing the trophy back into play for this season," quoted an official from Hyderabad Cricket Association in the report.
April 6, RPS vs MI, Pune- Actor Ritesh Deshmukh is expected to perform at Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium.
April 7, GL vs KKR, Rajkot- Actor Tiger Shroff will be entertaining the Rajkot crowd with his enthralling stunts. An official from Saurashtra Cricket Association said, "Apart from him, we will also have Sachin-Jigar and the Ram-Leela fame singer Bhoomi Trivedi. It should be a fascinating night and one that all will remember."
April 8, KXIP vs RPS, Indore- The Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association hasn't been informed yet.
April 8, RCB vs DD, Bangalore – Yet to be confirmed.
April 9, MIvs KKR, Mumbai – The Mumbai Cricket Association hasn't received the blueprint for the ceremony.
April 13, KKR vs KXIP, Kolkata – Cricket Association Bengal has confirmed that Shraddha Kapoor and Monali Thakur would be there to perform at Eden Gardens. They also added, "With Shah Rukh Khan, you never know if he will be part of an impromptu jig if he is present at the Eden Gardens."
April 15, DD vs KXIP, New Delhi- Parineeti Chopra will be performing at the opening ceremony at Feroz Shah Kotla Ground. A Delhi and District Cricket Association official said, " We are proud that we will have Parineeti performing in the opening ceremony at Kotla. She hails from Ambala, as a result she will have a connect with both the Delhi and the Punjab fans. We are excited that she will put up a great show. We will also have other performances like cultural shows and relive DD’s best moments in the IPL over the last nine editions."
