IPL 2017: RCB skipper Virat Kohli happy to be reunited with fitness coach Shankar Basu

Kohli injured his right shoulder on Day 1 of the third Test of the recently concluded India-Australia series.

New Delhi: Recuperating Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) captain Virat Kohli has revealed that Shankar Basu – fitness trainer – has joined the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise as one of the support staff for the 10th season.

Kohli, 28, took to Twitter to announce the development. And in the post, the right-handed batsman wrote, "Back with the Boss Mr. Shankar Basu. Always good seeing the guy who transformed my fitness totally."

Basu is no strangers in Indian cricket team. He helped Kohli and other members of the team gain supreme fitness, and was also part of the support-staff until recently. He took a break from national duties till the Champions Trophy in England.

It was during last season's IPL that he claimed that even tennis superstar like Novak Djokovic can take fitness tips Kohli.

Kohli injured his right shoulder on Day 1 of the third Test of the recently concluded India-Australia series.

He will miss first few games of the season.
