Samuel Badree resumed the proceedings with his leg spin, and eight runs from his first over. The West Indian started rather well, three dot balls to Ishan Kishan. But the young Indian batsman hit two fours – off the fourth and sixth balls.

Third delivery, Mandeep defends it down to point and foolishly goes for a single as Jadeja runs in to bullet down the leg stumps. And a horrible mix up by the two batsman takes away AB from the pitch. Dismal, absolute dismal!

Ravindra Jadeja is the next bowler continuing into his second over. Kedar has indeed picked up the score for struggling RCB as restored their run rate which is just around six. But Jadeja too knows his skills as he sends him packing back to the pavilion in his fourth delivery. Surprisingly straight ball as Kedar was looking for the late cut. The ball goes over the bat to topple the leg and middle stump. Its four down for RCB now.

And it is Basil Thampi back for his third over now while Kedar Jadhav and AB de Villiers are the two batsmen at the crease. It early pressure once again on the Bengaluru team with Suresh Raina feeling rather delighted after those early wickets.
Third ball, short, off side line and Kedar pulls it down midwicket for a boundary. And then again, off the flick of his toe for a boundary down backward square-leg. And thus the hat-trick of fours is completed after the fifth ball too it sent over backward point for a four.

Bringing a little change now with the introduction of Andrew Tye and it does work for the lions as they snare Gayle and Travis Head off the first two deliveries. And it is Basil Thampi yet again, this time for his second over. Has been really impressive this season with his yorker deliveries. Had dismissed Gayle in their earlier encounter this season at Rajkot. Sudden silence at M Chinnaswamy Stadium after that fifth delivery. It Virat, yet again, departing at the early part of the game. Short, to the leg side and Virat this time getting the touch with his bat, in the air and Finch there at short fine leg to take it. Absolute disbelief for the skipper.

The sky looks clear today as the players walk in towards the pitch. RCB will be desperately looking for a win in almost all of their game henceforth. So will be case for the Lions. Well, for Gujarat, no Irfan Pathan today.

TOSS TIME: GL win toss, elect to bowl first
Bangalore: Live cricket score and live updates from Match 31 of the Indian Premier League between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Gujarat Lions. The RCB vs GL match promises to be an action-filled contest as both teams comprise some of the finest hitters in world cricket. The situation is bleak for both team who have failed to make an impact in the tournament so far. While RCB are ranked sixth in the points table with two wins and a draw after eight games, it's an even worse situation for the Lions who are currently at the bottom with two wins from seven games.
The last two matches were nothing less than a nightmare for RCB. After their humiliating 49-run collapse against the mighty Kolkata Knight Riders, their home match against Sunrisers Hyderabad was washed out due to rain.
The team needs its senior batsman to pull up their socks and put a huge total on board since their bowling hasn't been upto the mark in the tournament as well.
Raina's team on the other hand, has been struggling despite being a formidable side. A team which boasts of some big names in Brendon McCullum, Aaron Finch, Dwayne Smith and Raina himself has failed to put big totals on board.
Ravindra Jadeja's inability to get regular wickets this season is something which has hurt them badly. Just like RCB, the onus will be on senior Gujarat Lions players to get the team's campaign back on track.
