IPL 2017, Match 2: R Ashwin predicts MS Dhoni to win MoM against Mumbai Indians

New Delhi: Ace spinner Ravichandran Ashwin on Thursday predicted former Rising Pune Supergiant captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni to win the man of the match award against Mumbai Indians in their first match of 2017 Indian Premier League (IPL).

Ashwin, 30, has been ruled out of the IPL 10 with sports hernia, and has already been replaced by his Tamil Nadu state-mate Washington Sundar in the Pune outfit.

Ahead of the match, Ashwin replied to an online poll asking "Predict the Man of the Match of today's match!"

His reply was "MSD".

However, minutes later, Ashwin posted another tweet, which read more like a sarcastic one, "Well well well, Interesting! Ahem."

It came after the toss in Pune, where RPS' new captain Steve Smith won the toss and elected to ball first against the visitors.

Or, his comment might refer to the one involving the selection of the playing XI. Faf du Plessis missed out, while the hosts opted two spinners in Adam Zampa and Imran Tahir.
