New Delhi: A news to bring a big smile on both Kolkata Knight Riders and their fans- Aussie international Chris Lynn is eying a comeback after recovering from his left shoulder injury, that he had incurred in the early weeks of the Indian Premier League 2017 season.

It was on April 9 at Wankhede Stadium, with Kolkata Knight Riders was battling against the high-flying Mumbai Indians. Batting first, Kolkata posted a fighting target of 179- courtesy, a brilliant knock from Manish Pandey, who scored 81 and a bit of an assisting touch from Lynn.

But the hosts came on strong, notching a 65-run opening partnership before Parthiv Patel was left stunned by the chinaman, Kuldeep Yadav. It was during this clinical opening stand that Jos Buttler cracked a biggy which the Queenslander dived to save in it the deep, and eventually injured his shoulder and called for immediate assistance. He had dislocated his left shoulder.

"With the left shoulder out of the joint for about 30 seconds after landing awkwardly from a full-stretch dive, I popped it back in its place," spoke the Aussie power-hitter spoke, when asked about the incident. "Because I've had it a few times now I sort of knew what timeframe I was looking at to get back if there wasn't too much damage after a scan."

And now having rested for more than three weeks now, the 27-year-old feels that he is all fit to hit the nets and boost his side as they lay just inches away from being the second team to grab the qualifying spot.

"The shoulder is slowly getting there. I had a cortisone injection the other day and it worked really well," Lynn told cricket.com.au from Kolkata.

There is much speculation that Lynn would mark his return to the cash-rich league possibly against Kings XI Punjab on May 9 or the return leg match against Mumbai Indians on May 13 at the Eden Gardens.

Speaking about the upcoming Champions Trophy tournament, he said, "We worked out whatever I could do back home, I can do where I am now in Kolkata. It only makes sense I'm here trying to get fit to play some cricket before heading over to England. There would be nothing worse than going in under prepared to a world tournament."

Well, talking about the Kolkata-based franchise, they are sitting second to table toppers Mumbai, with minor anxiety having failed to grab the qualifying spot yet. But with Lynn joining their side, the team is expected to get even more strengthened up. The Aussie concluded by saying, "I was going really when I was playing, but it helps the boys are winning, that's got me through. I can see a light at the end of the tunnel and hope to get back out there sooner rather than later."
