New Delhi: Kolkata Knight Riders squad is filled with top-notch cricketers in the Indian Premier League Season 10 but every player idolises a player or two.

KKR stars, including Gautam Gambhir, Shakib Al Hasan, Robin Uthappa, Trent Boult and Chris Woakes answered Harsha Bhogle's question about their favourite cricketers on Cricbuzz's Beyond the Boundary segment. (IPL 10, DD vs KKR - Live Blog | Points Table)

“For me, in spite of seeing the likes of AB and Virat right now the way he is playing, I don’t think anything can overcome that feeling of watching Paaji (Sachin Tendulkar) bat. The sweetness with which he times the ball, and there is a finesse in the way he bats. It just feels good in the heart,” quoted Robin Uthappa.

KKR skipper Gautam Gambhir had a to-the-point answer when asked to pick his favourite player from the current lot. The left-hander was the South African stalwart AB de Villiers.

Of the players from present generation, Uthappa picked Virat Kohli not only on the basis of how he has evolved as a batsman but also as an individual.

Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan also chose Kohli as his favourite Indian player from the current generation, but when it came to naming one on a wider scale, he opted for Rahul Dravid to be his favourite Indian player. Mohammad Rafique was Shakib's choice as the Bangladeshi player he grew up watching.

New Zealand quickie Trent Boult chose Dale Steyn as the best current cricketer in the world, saying he idolises the South African speedster.

Meanwhile, Chris Woakes chose James Anderson as the best current bowler in the world, while also naming AB de Villiers as the undisputed champion with the bat in modern cricket.
