New Delhi: Kolkata Knight Riders might have failed in their bid to climb to top of IPL standings after suffering a defeat to the hands of Gujarat Lions on Friday, but Suryakumar Yadav's decent piece of work on the boundary rope, followed by laudable sportsmanship won the hearts of many in the stadium and those watching all across the world.

The KKR fielder took the catch right in front of the boundary after Ravindra Jadeja had dislodged one off Sunil Naraine delivery, but as he was getting balance with the momentum, he threw the ball in the air, and came back out and completes the catch.

But realising the catch wasn't clean enough to be given out, Yadav himself signaled the umpire that it is a six. Replays showed that he had in fact stepped on the boundary rope with ball in his hand.

Here's how the incident unfolded:-

GL skipper Suresh Raina conjured up a tenacious rearguard action to lead his side to a four-wicket win against the Knight Riders on Friday, with an incredible 46-ball 84 to help the team secure their second win of the current campaign.
