Uttar Pradesh batter Sameer Rizvi will play under the leadership of legendary MS Dhoni in the IPL 2024 season. Rizvi was bought by Chennai Super Kings (CSK) for a massive price tag of Rs 8.4 Crore. His base price started at only Rs 20 lakhs and went up to Rs 8.4 Crore after Delhi Capitals pulled out at 7.6 crore and GT along with CSK fought hard for the explosive batter.
Recently, Rizvi impressed in the UP T20 League as he played some explosive knocks in the tournament smashing big maximums all over the park. All the words know how big of a groomer MS Dhoni is for young talents and surely he can make this young talent a dangerous asset for the Chennai Super Kings.

In the Men's Under-23 State A competition, the right-handed hitter put up some strong performances. He amassed two hundreds and two fifties, including a game-winning fifty-four out of fifty balls in the championship match, which helped Uttar Pradesh win. Additionally, Rizvi had the most sixes in the competition with 37.

"One of the IPL scouts actually told me that he was the right handed Suresh Raina. The areas that he hits against spin are similar and many teams might go after him," Abhinav Mukund said on Jio Cinema.
Raina expressed that Rizvi is a same kind of a player like LSG's Ayush Badoni who bats with a completely different approach no matter what the situation of the game is. Sameer has the fastest ton in UP T20 League with an average of 49.16 and a strike-rate of 134.70 in domestic T20s.
"Sameer Rizvi has a different intent in his batting. He would get a lot of confidence if he gets to play for an UP team. He is a Badoni-type player but plays with a straighter bat," Raina added about the player.
