IPL 2017: Mumbai Indians duo Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya declared fit to play the 10th edition

New Delhi: Amid the growing list of players who will miss out on the initial showdown of the 10th edition of Indian Premier League due to injury, Mumbai Indians duo Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya have both been declared fit to play the season.

While the day kicked-off on a rather bad note, with the news of KL Rahul and Ravichandran Ashwin being ruled out of IPL for the initial weeks, and then the news of Murali Vijay's uncertainity to appear for Kings XI Punjab due to injury, Mumbai Indians heard the good news calling. Skipper Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya have both been declared fit by BCCI.

"Mr. Rohit Sharma and Mr. Hardik Pandya - have been declared fit to play competitive cricket. They will be available for IPL 2017," the BCCI said.

While Pandya had missed on the nail-biting Border-Gavaskar series owing to shoulder injury, Rohit has long been suffering form his injury, since their home series enounter against New Zealand last October.

The 29-year-old Rohit did undergo surgery following his thigh pain and returned back fit to play for Mumbai in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. But it seems that he wasn't completely fit and was ruled out again for knee injury.

Finally with both the players returing to the practice nets absoultely fit, they would pick up this golden opportunity to prove themselves worthy of a position on the team list for the Champions Trophy coming June.
