New Delhi: Irfan Pathan was one of the most renowned names to have missed out on earning a contract from IPL franchises in the auction ahead of the 10th season.
With a base price of Rs. 50 lakh, Irfan would have expected for a few franchises to go after his all-round skills but the bidding war saw franchises giving preference to few uncapped youngsters instead.
Irfan Pathan might be feel hard done by what happened in the auction, but on Tuesday he wrote a beautiful letter to all of his fans and posted it on his Twitter account.

“In 2010, I had undergone 5 fractures in my back. The physio had told to me that I might now be able to play cricket ever again and should rather give up on my dream. At that point of time I told him, I can bear any pain but cannot the bear the pain of not playing this beautiful game for my country.”
In the message, Pathan further explained that despite such a big blow to his career, he fought and made a comeback to the Indian team.
“I worked hard and not only played cricket again but made a come back to the India team. I have faced many obstacles in my career and life but never gave up, that’s the character I have and will possess that forever.
"Right now I have this obstacle in front of me but I will get through it with all the prayers and wishes coming to me. Just wanted to share this with all my fans who are still supporting me."
Pathan most recently rose eyebrows with impressive performances in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy where he picked up five wickets in four games at an average of 17.6 and an economy rate of 6.28.
